1.What is the village community Hartdisk?

Hartdisk is a social community in our village, founded by my husband and his friends. This community brings together experts in various fields such as art, culture, tradition, and food, and engages in activities that span many fields, such as university lectures.
The name “Hartdisk” was decided after a long discussion. “Hartdisk” contains the meaning of “Juntu Art District”, where “Juntu” is the name of our village, and “Art District” represents the activities such as art, tradition, culture, and local food culture that are carried out here. The word “District” does not mean a specific place, but is used as a name that describes the characteristics of our activities.
Half of the village is rice fields, and most of the people who live here are farmers. Approximately 500 people live here.

There are four areas called “Dusun” in this village. It’s like an address in Japan. Our community is in Dusun 3 and 4, and there are about 150 households.
As an art work or art project, we don’t have big goals. However, we believe that this activity can help many people. In some cases, it may also help the government to pass on culture, art, and food culture to future generations.
Until about 10 years ago, it was difficult to find local traditional food culture and habits. However, through our activities, people are able to remember, record, and recreate local food culture.
In particular, we record traditional Gorontalo cuisine and culture, and support rediscovering the goodness of tradition. If someone wants to know about Gorontalo culture, they can come to us and remember and connect together.

We are basically active in two areas: the traditional market, Pasar Ambua, and Studio Pangan, an informal school called Warga. We don’t have a set program for other activities.
However, we do sometimes respond to requests to participate in events from outside. In those cases, my husband, who is the leader, will gather artists and find people who can participate in the event.
If the event pays the artist, the payment is received by the artist himself, not by our community. Our unique feature is that we are not a business, but simply play the role of connecting artists and events.
